No Spend Update #1

No Spend Update #1

So far, so good on the no spending for July and August! We had one of the weekends I blogged about earlier and had a mini vacation weekend. Most of the ideas were Rob’s and he, very generously, took care of most of it! I was surprised and enjoyed it all the more! We built a fire, had smores, and lit some fireworks Saturday night. Sunday we took the kids to Cars 2 in 3D at the movie theater. Then…

Newest Member of the Family

Newest Member of the Family

We have a new member of the family – a new kitten named Sweetie. (Note: I had no hand in naming her.) She is rather adorable now that she is litter box trained and has stopped waking up the household at night. She is, however, still trying to get along with the queen of the household, Lola. Courtesy of The Young Blood Pulling Team Facebook Page (BTW They won Sunday!!!) Seriously though, I do not like to be gone any longer…

Besides being more energy efficient than cooking in the oven all day, slow cookers should not heat up your home in the summer. I love coming home to a meal already prepared besides just fussing with some easy side dishes. This is the…

What to do this weekend? Clean, clean, clean!

What to do this weekend? Clean, clean, clean!

Do you ever have trouble with trying to figure out what to do with your weekend? I don’t mean making plans and with whom to hang out with. I mean the “cleaning the house” and “what projects to do this weekend” list. I am very good at making lists for projects, but not for house cleaning. Probably because I detest house cleaning, but I enjoy a clean, organized house! So I cheat…on my “cleaning house” list. I already know I need…
